Removals to Monaco
Monaco is such a desirable location that it’s attractive for professionals and high net worth individuals looking to split their time between the continent and the UK. With this in mind, let’s take a look at some of the key things you need to know…
Cost of Life in Monaco
As a tiny principality on the coast, Monaco has no real room to expand or grow. This means that the more people who want to move there, the higher the prices will become. The upside of this is that there is virtually no crime or anti-social behaviour and you’re likely to make all sorts of contacts that will help your career in the years ahead.
Prices will easily be 50% more than they are in London per square metre, meaning that you really need to budget if you want to move to Monaco. The entry requirements are also a little stricter than in larger countries and are often linked to your employment and savings.
Can you move to Monaco easily?
The first thing you need to do is have an address, proof of income, or proof that you have a job offer waiting for you in the city. This will then enable you to get a residency card so you can stay for a period of 1 year. You have the option to renew this card on a rolling yearly basis, provided you can commit to spending at least 3 of the next 12 months in Monaco. This is done to stop it being used as a tax haven or simply a holiday resort for the ultra rich.
Residency in Monaco
To apply for permanent residency you must show that you have lived there for at least 3 years and intend to carry on doing so. As well as this fairly standard requirement, you’ll also be asked to show proof of savings in excess of £500,000. This may sound like a restrictive amount, but with the right planning and some employer sponsorship it’s certainly a step in the application process you’ll be able to successfully navigate.
Is Monaco Safe?
For such a highly developed, densely packed city, Monaco offers an unrivalled level of police protection, health and social care, and key infrastructure for its citizens. This combines with the idyllic setting and highly desirable living standards to create a city state in which you will feel at peace and at ease from the moment you arrive. And because it attracts people from all over the world, you get an exciting blend of different cultures, all set against the backdrop of the history and presence of the place.
